FilmSlam 2014 dates: COMING SOON!

Out In The Open Film Festival with Director John Waters TONIGHT at The Abbey

The 7th annual Come Out With Pride® Orlando festivities start October 1st with the Out In The Open Film Festival, and run through October 6, closing with a special Pride on Broadway performance of Mamma Mia at Bob Carr Performing Arts Center.

Filmmakers will be particularly interested in the fest tonight at The Abbey, as it features “An Evening With John Waters!” Many, including myself, are huge fans of his one man show “THIS FILTHY WORLD,” but others know him as director of such films as; Pink Flamingoes, Cry-Baby, Hairspray and A Dirty Shame. Mr. Waters also adds actor, stand-up comedian, writer, journalist, visual artist, and art collector to his already bustling repertoire.

Come Out With Pride Executive Director,  Mikael Audebert, says, “We are quite ecstatic to have worked with several of our partners to bring about diversity and great talents to Orlando, not just on the day of Pride, but throughout the week. We have a little bit for everyone and that is exactly what we wanted to do as our community is a wonderful “collage” that needed to be represented through our week long celebration.”

Cost:

$39 General Admission

$150 Meet & Greet Reception

For information about upcoming events, please visit http://comeoutwithpride.com/, check out the Digital Pride Guide or  download the Come Out With Pride smartphone app (the first ever app for a Gay Pride event in Florida!) for iPhone/Android.
