In case you weren’t aware (and shame on you if you weren’t) our former host, Tim Anderson, is the programmer and host of FilmSlam, a monthly filmmaker event at Enzian Theater. We at Indie Cinema Showcase are longtime supporters of this great filmmaker event, and think you should be too.
Originally a project of University of Central Florida’s Downtown Media Arts Center, Enzian became the home of FilmSlam when DMAC closed in 2006. Now in its seventh year at Enzian, FilmSlam continues to be a popular outlet for indie and student filmmakers throughout the State of Florida.
FilmSlam is usually held on the second Sunday of each month (February and May are the 3rd Sunday) at 1PM. A few cool things about FilmSlam; it’s FREE to submit, tickets are only $5 AND you get to check out your work on the big screen! There’s also a Director Q&A after the screening and plenty of networking time afterward.
Probably the coolest thing is, if your film wins the FilmSlam Audience Vote, it will qualify to move on to Enzian’s annual Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase. If it wins at Brouhaha, your film will get a guaranteed slot at the Florida Film Festival! Nothing but WIN for you, our dear filmmakers!
